Once a week, 13 eighth-graders from Schlossbergschule Wehingen and 28 from Realschule Gosheim-Wehingen come to our company in a bus organized by Häring to work on a project. For one, they get to know an industrial company and, on the other hand, they can try out different activities and technologies. For example, the students from Schlossbergschule are currently learning various things such as deburring, filing, scribing, centering, drilling or countersinking. They are supported by a teacher and our apprentices. The students from the Realschule, who have been divided into two groups, are also working on a multifaceted project: They are building an airplane with a combination of turned and milled parts. Among other things, they are learning to program the propeller - an LED fan - as well as how to laser engrave the housing.
At the beginning of the projects, both school classes received a presentation on the company as well as a subsequent academy tour to get to know the company and its values. "It's important to show the young people what career opportunities they have here in the region. With projects like these, we can move parts of the technology lessons to our academy and show them practical insights into the world of work - and thus spark an interest in technology at an early stage," explains President Miriam Häring.
