The focus was on the current challenges facing the automotive industry and the geopolitical developments affecting Baden-Württemberg as a business location. Minister President Winfried Kretschmann emphasized the need for internationally competitive framework conditions and significant investments in order to secure the region's long-term competitiveness.
A key topic was the expansion of the charging and hydrogen infrastructure in order to further promote electromobility. The promotion of free and open source software (FOSS) was also discussed. The signed letter of intent aims to support small and medium-sized companies in particular in increasing their competitiveness and reducing costs through the use of open source software. The planned “The FOSS LÄND Community” is intended to provide a platform for the exchange and use of synergies.
In addition, the call for an early review of the EU's CO2 fleet limits was discussed in order to ensure early planning security. It was emphasized that innovation-friendly regulation is necessary in order to both achieve the climate targets and strengthen the competitiveness of the automotive industry.
The event demonstrated the importance of close cooperation between politics, business and research in order to successfully shape the transformation of the automotive industry and secure Baden-Württemberg as a leading automotive location.
“The discussions and results of the strategy dialogue provide valuable insights for the future of the mobility industry,” explains Miriam Häring, President at Anton Häring KG. “The topics addressed, from promoting innovation to ensuring competitive framework conditions, are crucial for strengthening Baden-Württemberg as a business location and successfully overcoming the challenges facing the industry.”
